By Mohamed Abdel Latif, the Education Minister

The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum represents a historic and exceptional milestone in the journey of modern Egypt, and a message to the world affirming that Egypt is not merely preserving its history, but reviving it with a contemporary vision that blends authenticity and progress.

This monumental civilisational edifice, built near the eternal Pyramids of Giza, is not just a museum housing rare Pharaonic antiquities, but a beacon of science, culture, and education. It opens new horizons for our students and researchers to understand the roots of Egyptian identity and to delve deeply into the sciences of archaeology, heritage, and civilisation.

The inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum crowns the efforts of the state, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in building the New Republic — one that draws its strength from its ancient history and places education and culture at the forefront of its priorities. Ancient Egyptian civilization was the first to raise the slogan “Knowledge is the path to immortality.” Today, we reaffirm this meaning by linking museums with schools, and education with enlightenment.

From this standpoint, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education affirms its keenness to integrate this great edifice into the educational process by organising field visits and awareness programs for school students, to strengthen their connection with Egyptian civilisation and instill in them values of belonging and national pride. This aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which places cultural identity as a core pillar of sustainable development.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is not merely a gateway to the past — it is a bridge to the future, inspiring our youth to explore science, art, engineering, and creativity, just as their ancestors did thousands of years ago. It stands as lasting proof that Egypt was — and will always remain — the cradle of civilization and a pioneer in education, culture, and human thought.

A salute of appreciation to all who contributed to this great achievement, and a salute of pride to the great people of Egypt, who carry the torch of civilization from one generation to the next.
