EgyptAir highlighted its current operations, future fleet strategy, and competitive advantages during its participation in the prestigious ISTAT Middle East and Africa Conference, a significant forum for the global aviation finance community.

Held this year in Prague, Czech Republic, the airline was invited to participate in a key panel discussion focused on the dynamics facing airline companies.

Ahmed Marei, Head of Planning at EgyptAir Holding Company, represented the carrier and provided an in-depth review of its strategic plans, specifically referencing the ongoing contracts for the acquisition of new, modern aircraft, including the Boeing B737-8 MAX and the Airbus A350-900.

The panel delved into several critical industry topics, exploring the essential competitive advantages airlines must leverage to attract passengers amidst intense market competition.

Discussions also covered the impact of mergers on the competitive landscape, particularly given the proliferation of low-cost carriers across the Middle East.

Furthermore, the participants examined the influence of sustainable development goals on long-term fleet planning, as well as the effect of tariffs on air traffic and their subsequent impact on cargo fleet planning.

The ISTAT conference served as a platform to showcase the latest developments in the aviation industry, drawing a diverse attendance of over 1,500 participants.

The attendees represented a broad spectrum of the sector, including major airlines, aircraft and engine manufacturers, global leasing firms, and leading banks and financing institutions.

EgyptAir’s participation underscores its commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and actively engaging with key financial and operational partners.
