CAIRO – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed with a delegation from the Executive Council of the Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF) ways of joint cooperation to support the health sector.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said the Minister welcomed the guests and invited them to attend the third edition of the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Human Development, scheduled to be held from November 10 to 13, 2025.
During their meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, both sides reviewed ways to enhance cooperation in several areas, with a focus on the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in developing the health system.
He noted that the meeting focused on applying AI technologies in Ministry of Health hospitals to improve service efficiency, speed up diagnosis and treatment procedures, and future plans for training health sector workers on the optimal use of AI technologies, to build human resource capabilities and keep pace with global developments, and train cadres on the concepts of health system sustainability and crisis management mechanisms.
The federation’s delegation was keen to invite the minister to attend the Arab Hospitals Federation’s annual forum, “MidHealth Riyadh,” scheduled for January 2026 in Riyadh, to review Egypt’s successful experience in comprehensive health coverage and exchange experiences among Arab countries.
For her part, Dr. Alice Yammine, the CEO of the Federation, extended special thanks to the Minister of Health for his efforts in developing the health sector, praising his continuous support for the Federation, and Egypt’s successes in the comprehensive health insurance system and presidential public health initiatives.
