CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to enhancing consular services at all Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad, including the ongoing transition toward digitizing consular procedures to better serve Egyptian citizens.

The minister’s remarks came on Friday during a meeting in New Delhi with members of the Egyptian community in India.

He underlined the significant role played by Egyptian expatriates in supporting the national economy.

Abdelatty stressed his personal commitment to maintaining direct communication with Egyptian communities during his official visits abroad. This communication is a key priority in his diplomatic engagements, he added.

He further highlighted the special attention the state gives to expatriate citizens, along with ongoing efforts to streamline consular services for quicker and more efficient delivery.

The minister noted the support provided by various national bodies to strengthen the connection between Egyptian communities and their homeland.

These efforts include several key initiatives aimed at supporting Egyptian expatriates, he said, adding among them are facilitating access to housing units and land plots allocated specifically for Egyptians abroad, and enabling the import of cars.

The Foreign Ministry is also working on digitizing exams for Egyptian students overseas to simplify and speed up both the application and examination processes, Abdelatty further noted.

He also took the opportunity to learn about the conditions of the Egyptian community in India, listen to their feedback on consular services, and hear their suggestions for improvement.

Abdelatty commended the community’s positive role in fostering shared interests between Egypt and India.
