CAIRO – Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Germany to achieve sustainable health development goals and enhance the quality of healthcare services in both countries.

The remarks came during a meeting with Germany’s Health Minister Nina Warken on the sidelines of the 2025 World Health Summit, held in Berlin from October 12 to 14, aimed at exploring ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

In a statement on Tuesday, Spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the meeting reviewed the current status of Egypt-Germany collaboration in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, bioproducts, and vaccines, as well as the implementation of agreements from previous meetings.

The ministers also discussed future cooperation, including exchanging expertise in preventive, primary, and therapeutic healthcare, health crisis management, and addressing emerging threats and epidemics.

They explored mechanisms for collaboration on strategies to prevent communicable and non-communicable diseases, aiming to reduce their impact on public health.

The discussions also focused on promoting joint production of vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and medical products, and strengthening ties between specialized medical institutes, research centers, and training facilities under both countries’ health ministries.

They also addressed enhancing universal health coverage, implementing the “One Health” strategy, advancing digital healthcare services, establishing smart and environmentally sustainable healthcare facilities, and promoting collaboration in medical tourism.
