The Minister celebrated the outstanding performance of the Artistic Gymnastics Team at the Mediterranean Junior Championships held in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The Egyptian delegation delivered a superb result, with the Men’s Junior Artistic Gymnastics Team securing first place and the gold medal.
This victory was complemented by the Women’s Junior Artistic Gymnastics Team earning third place and the bronze medal.
Sobhi extended his congratulations to the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation, led by Dr Ihab Amin, and praised the players for their “distinguished performance,” noting that it “reflects the development of Egyptian gymnastics.”

In a separate commendation, the Minister congratulated the Egyptian Weightlifting Federation, headed by Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, following a successful outing at the 2025 World Weightlifting Championships in Norway.
The spotlight was on national team player Abdel Rahman Younis, who secured two medals in the 79 kg category.
Younis claimed a silver medal in the snatch competition, lifting
162 kg, and followed it up with a bronze medal in the total, achieving a lift of
360 kg.
The Minister lauded Younis’s “fighting spirit and determination,” particularly in the fierce competition for the gold medal in the snatch.
