Paying tribute to policemen 12 - Egyptian Gazette

By Mahmud Zaki

Egypt celebrated the 70th National Police on January 25, a day on which Egyptians always remember the heroes of the battle of Ismailia, who defended the honor of their country in the face of British occupation forces with full patriotism and steadfastness.

Time has proven our honorable policemen’s heroism to be a continual phenomenon, and not something that stopped after January 25, 70 years ago.

This heroism is a national story and a great and continual epic that never comes to an end.

Policemen are the guardians of our country. They are the guardians of the people of this country in every inch of it too.

One has to always remember that our armed forces are the shield of our country and its sword. This shield and this sword protect Egypt’s borders and its very existence.

Policemen are the fortress of the nation’s citizens that defends their security and safety.

Commemorating Police Day, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the policemen and their dedication to the cause of their country. The president also talked about policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in the past years.

“We will not forget what they gave to our country,” President Sisi said of the police martyrs.

“We take solace in the fact that these people sacrificed their lives so that their country of 100 million people can continue to live in peace, security and progress,” the president added.

The president noted that Egypt is a country that would never run out of heroes and terrorism had shown just that.

“What the policemen do presents an undeniable proof that our country’s resources are inexhaustible. Egypt’s land always overflows with goodness and gives birth to men who are well aware of the value of belonging to this country,” the president said.

As they mark Police Day, Egyptians do not only salute policemen with pride. They also celebrate their country’s achievements under Sisi’s leadership.

These achievements would never have been possible without the heroism and sacrifices of the honorable policemen and army troops.

Egypt will always live in security and stability under Sisi so that he can move ahead with developing it. This security and this stability is made possible by the sacrifices of the policemen and army troops.

The Ministry of the Interior succeeded in implementing an integrated strategy in the past years to upgrade the nation’s security system.

The success of this process has been manifested in a decline in crime rates.

On this occasion, one feels the urge of sending greetings of love, pride and appreciation to all policemen.
