CAIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, praised the continued efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces in safeguarding national security and maintaining stability across all strategic directions.
This came as the President presided over the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) at military headquarters held in conjunction with Egypt’s celebrations of the 52nd anniversary of the October War victory.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said that Sisi began the meeting by extending greetings to the great Egyptian people and the valiant men of the Armed Forces on the occasion of the glorious October victory.
The meeting addressed a number of critical topics in light of ongoing regional and international developments, and how these impact Egypt’s national security.
According to the spokesman, Minister of Defense and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Abdel Meguid Saqr presented a comprehensive briefing on the current missions of the Armed Forces, including their role in securing Egypt’s borders and their ongoing collaboration with ministries and state institutions to support Egypt’s sustainable development agenda across various sectors.
Sisi paid tribute to the souls of Egypt’s heroic martyrs, affirming that October victory remains deeply embedded in the conscience of the Egyptian people, generation after generation.
He emphasized that the prosperity and progress Egypt enjoys today would not have been possible without the selfless sacrifices of the heroes of the October war.
