President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Sunday expressed Egypt’s appreciation for partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) as well as efforts of the bank in promoting and diversifying intra-African trade and contributing to boosting the continent’s share in global commerce.
President Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Benedict Oramah, the current Afreximbank President, whose term is set to conclude in October 2025, and George Elombi, the next president of the bank at Al Ittihadiya Palace.
The meeting was attended by Hassan Abdullah, the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, according to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy.
During the meeting, President Sisi congratulated Elombi on his election as the new President of the bank, which is based in Egypt.
