In a significant development for the Voice of the People Party, Counselor Bassem Ahmed Gamal Faragallah Hafnawi has been appointed as the party’s new Secretary-General. He will also serve as the head of an interim central committee tasked with managing the party’s affairs.
The decision was made by Counselor Ahmed Hussein Abdel-Majeed El-Barawy, the founder’s representative and legal official for the party. The interim committee’s primary role will be to prepare for the party’s upcoming general conference, adhering to the guidelines set forth in Articles (103) and (104) of the party’s internal regulations.
This leadership change follows a recent ruling by the Beni Suef Court, which invalidated a previous General Assembly decision that had named Dr. Mohamed Badran as acting party president.
The Political Parties Affairs Committee had previously recognized Counselor El-Barawy as the official legal representative of the party and formally included the Voice of the People Party in its records. This designation was officially published in Issue No. (22 bis A) of the Official Gazette.
