CAIRO – Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam praised Tuesday the continuous efforts of farmers in serving the economy and achieving food security over the years.
He extended his congratulations to all Egyptian farmers on the occasion of Farmer’s Day, which is celebrated annually on the ninth of September to honor the Egyptian farmers for their efforts.
The celebration comes as the season of maximum water needs is successfully drawing to a close, during which the ministry’s agencies exerted great efforts to ensure its successful passage while meeting the water needs of all users in the appropriate quantities and timings.
Sewilam said the success of the current summer season was achieved with the positive participation of the farmers themselves, through their commitment to implementing water rotation schedules.
