CAIRO – Minister of Local Development and acting Minister of Environment Manal Awad said the waterfalls area within Wadi El Rayan protectorate is very unique nationwide, making the reserve one of the most attractive sites for both domestic and international eco-tourism.
The minister made the remarks during an inspection tour of the protectorate in Fayoum Governorate.
She underlined the need for stronger oversight of Egypt’s nature reserves, including Wadi El Rayan, due to their significance in promoting eco-tourism.
She reiterated the importance of continuously improving the quality of services and enhancing the overall visitor experience for both Egyptians and foreigners.
She called for offering a true model for eco-tourism that takes into account environmental, social, cultural, and economic aspects, while integrating the private sector and local communities, factors that can help boost visitor numbers both domestically and internationally.
