Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Saturday afternoon started an inspection tour to follow up on the progress of several projects aimed at reviving historic districts in Cairo.
The premier is accompanied by Minister of Local Development Manal Awad, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbiny, and Governor of Cairo Ibrahim Saber Khalil.
Head of the National Organization for Urban Harmony Mohamed Abu Saada also accompanied Madbouli alongside Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction Mahmoud Nassar, Chairman of Arab Contractors Ahmed el Assar, Country Director for UN-Habitat Egypt Ahmed Rezk, as well as senior officials from the housing and local development ministries, Cairo governorate and relevant bodies.
Madbouli said his tour reflects the government’s keenness to continue on-the-ground monitoring of the state’s projects to restore and revive Cairo’s historic areas, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to preserve the city’s unique architectural and heritage character.
