Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny met with a group of newly appointed heads of Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting focused on the Ministry’s strategic objectives for the civil aviation sector and underscored the critical role of diplomatic efforts in achieving these goals.
During the session, El-Hefny outlined the government’s comprehensive strategies and policies aimed at bolstering the civil aviation sector.
He highlighted its significance as a key driver of economic development and investment attraction. The Minister affirmed the considerable attention dedicated to modernising Egyptian airport infrastructure to meet international standards and fostering public-private partnerships (PPPs).
A central theme of the discussion was Egypt’s candidacy for membership on the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council in the upcoming session.
El-Hefny stressed the importance of the new ambassadors’ support in this endeavor, recognising Egypt’s long-standing and impactful contributions to the global civil aviation system.
He urged them to mobilise international support for Egypt’s candidacy among ICAO Council member states.
El-Hefny also took the opportunity to commend Egypt’s enduring diplomatic legacy and acknowledged the vital role of ambassadors in representing the nation and strengthening its regional and international standing.
He extended his best wishes for their success in their new roles and in advancing Egyptian interests abroad.
