Following their outstanding performances at the recent European International Junior Open Squash Championship, held from July 10-13, and the Dutch International Junior Open Squash Championship, which took place from July 3-6, the Egyptian national junior squash team has received warm commendation from Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Ashraf Sobhi.

The Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to both the young athletes and the Egyptian Squash Federation, celebrating their impressive results as a powerful affirmation of Egypt’s enduring global leadership in the sport and a promising indicator of the nation’s ambitious preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Sobhi expressed immense satisfaction with the junior team’s achievements, highlighting that their success underscores Egypt’s preeminent position in squash, both regionally and internationally.

He affirmed that the outstanding talent displayed by this generation is a direct reflection of the comprehensive institutional support provided by the Egyptian state to squash, a sport recognised as a cornerstone of the national sports system.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Egyptian government, remains steadfast in its commitment to cultivating a new generation of champions.

These efforts are part of a broader strategic initiative designed to ensure Egypt’s continued prominence on the international sporting stage, particularly with an eye towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

This commitment also includes expanding the sport’s participation base and robustly identifying and nurturing talent across all age groups.
