The British Council in Egypt successfully hosted the Strategic Educational Summit, held from 21–23 June at Rixos Premium Alamein, New Alamein City. The high-level engagement brought together over 225 leaders from British Council Partner Schools, representatives from the UK awarding bodies, the Ministry of Education and international stakeholders, for a collaborative dialogue on the future of education in Egypt.
Held under the theme ‘Empowering British Council Partners – Collaborative Pathways to Quality Education’, the conference featured sessions on performance management, digital safeguarding, inclusive practices, and collaborative leadership to support school improvement
The summit followed a standout academic year for the British Council Partner Schools network in Egypt. In 2024/2025, the programme supported over 50,000 learners, delivered more than 3,000 teacher professional development sessions, and partnered with eight UK awarding bodies. With a high satisfaction rating from partner schools and growing recognition from local authorities, the British Council model continues to set the standard for excellence in international education.
Mark Howard, Country Director, British Council Egypt, said: This summit is a testament to the power of collaboration in education. It brings together partners who share a commitment to driving positive change—through inclusive practices, digital safeguarding, and effective leadership. At the British Council, we are proud to stand alongside schools, educators, and policymakers in supporting quality education and continuous school improvement.
Speaking at the summit, Ammar Ahmed, Director Examinations Egypt at the British Council, noted: ‘Our Partner Schools network is a catalyst for educational transformation. This summit celebrates the progress we’ve made and energises our next chapter. We are committed to ensuring every learner in our ecosystem benefits from a globally connected, locally grounded education.’
The event also marked the British Council’s 90-year legacy in globally, reaffirming its role in advancing education reform, fostering innovation, and strengthening public-private partnerships aligned with global standards.

The summit reinforced the British Council’s commitment to quality, inclusive education in Egypt. It marked a key milestone in strengthening partnerships, driving school improvement, and shaping the future of learning through collaboration and innovation.
