Iran condemned the resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and announced plans to establish a new uranium enrichment facility in response.
Iran said the resolution is politically motivated and technically baseless, according to the Iranian News Agency Tasnim on Thursday.
The Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran in a statement denounced the resolution passed by the US, the UK, France and Germany at the IAEA Board of Governors.
Meanwhile, in a formal letter to the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Saeed Iravani, warned that Iran would take proportionate measures if it is sanctioned.
It could withdraw from the NPT.
