Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa Wednesday reiterated commitment to conducting regular field follow-ups on all military production companies and units to make sure of the progress of the production process on the ground, verify the proper implementation of issued directives, and stress the importance of applying governance principles and the optimal use of available resources.
This came during the Minister’s surprise inspection tour of Helwan Company for Engineering Industries (Factory 99 Military), where he arrived at the company during employees’ working hours to monitor adherence to work start times and the execution of the daily production plan.
The Minister began his surprise tour by visiting several production lines and workshops within the company. He inspected the spare parts workshop, as well as various production lines of Factory 99 Military, which contribute to meeting the Armed Forces’ needs for heavy ammunition and other military products.
During the tour, the Minister also reviewed the application of quality standards in production processes, adherence to project implementation schedules, and the availability of necessary industrial inputs to ensure continued production in the upcoming period.
He instructed the implementation of fire safety, storage, and maintenance standards and codes, as well as the adoption of occupational safety and health procedures that ensure a safe working environment and protect both human and material resources at the company.
While inspecting the production lines, the Minister listened to the views and demands of several workers, encouraging them to exert more effort. He also directed efforts to overcome any challenges faced by workers in the production process and to provide a conducive environment for boosting productivity so the company can achieve its targets, especially with the end of the current fiscal year approaching.
Helwan Company for Engineering Industries, in addition to fulfilling the needs of the Armed Forces, also utilizes its surplus production capacity to manufacture civilian products that meet the needs of citizens. These include fire extinguishers, LPG cylinders and regulators, lead-free stainless steel tableware and kitchenware, pistons, and piston rings. The company also participates in the implementation of many national and developmental projects, supporting the state’s sustainable development goals. Among these is the initiative to upgrade dairy centers across the Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.
