Egypt’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa received the visiting Italian Chief of Defence, General Luciano Portolano, and his accompanying delegation.
Discussions during the meeting focused on ways to consolidate aspects of co-operation and partnership between the armed forces in both countries in various fields.
Khalifa voiced pride in the long-standing ties between the Egyptian and Italian armed forces, noting that the General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces is keen to bolster military co-operation with Italy to achieve mutual interests.
For his part, General Portolano stressed Italy’s keenness to enhance military relations and exchange expertise between the armed forces in Egypt and Italy over the coming phase.He also lauded Egypt’s active role and its constant endeavours to establish security and stability in the Middle East region.
