The representatives of the National FoodSafety Authority (NFSA) have participated in a workshop, organised by the Ministry of Health and Population, over a period of four days to correct behaviours and practices during Eid al-Adha, in co-operation with the World Health Organisation (WHO).

This workshop is a part of the activities of the National One Health Strategy to enhance public health principles in preparation for the Eid al-Adha, in accordance with the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar.

Representatives of the Ministries of Health and Population, Endowments, Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Environment, Local Development, and Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities took part in the workshop activities.

The workshop discussed the technical axes of the National One Health Strategy and the implementation plan, highlighting the most important activities that were implemented during the past period.

Head of the Preventive Medicine and Public Health Sector, Dr Radi Hammad, said that the workshop included probing ways of joint co-operation to ensure full preparation for the Eid al-Adha through community awareness, medical services, environmental and preventive measures, and the importance of strengthening the “one health” principle that links human health, animals’ health, and the environment.Buy vitamins and supplements

Representative of WHO in Egypt, Dr Nima Abid, confirmed that they are working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population and all ministries and national agencies to ensure the readiness of various sectors for the Eid al-Adha season by strengthening public health services and environmental hygiene.

The workshop comes as a part of One Health to enhance the benefit from the role of mosques and religious platforms in spreading health and environmental awareness messages, before and during Eid al-Adha.

The workshop was concluded by developing an action plan to implement an awareness campaign through various means of communication and targeting Giza Governorate as a first stage to correct wrong behaviours and practices during the Eid al-Adha season in a way that enhances the One Health approach.
