With survival at stake, struggling clubs are leaving it all on the pitch— where every goal, tackle, and point could be the lifeline that keeps them afloat.
Enppi moved a step closer to safety with a hard-fought draw against Talae El-Geish, while Modern Sport staged a comeback win to deepen Ismaily’s relegation woes. El-Gouna delivered a bold statement with a commanding 4–0 rout of Ghazl El-Mahalla, as the Alexandria derby between Al-Ittihad and Smouha ended in a tense goalless draw.
El-Gouna 4–0 El-Mahalla
El-Gouna produced a scintillating performance to thrash Ghazl El-Mahalla 4–0 at El-Mahalla Stadium in Round 7 of the Relegation Group.
Veteran striker Marwan Mohsen opened the scoring from the spot in the 10th minute after El-Gouna were awarded an early penalty, setting the tone for a dominant display.
Midfielder Mohamed Emad doubled the lead with a composed finish on the stroke of halftime, capping a first-half in which the visitors dictated the pace and controlled possession.
El-Gouna maintained their intensity after the break, and right-winger Ali El-Zahdi added a third in the 58th minute with a sharp finish inside the box. Nigerian winger Tolulope Samuel Ojo put the result beyond doubt in the 72nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to slot home the fourth.
El-Gouna was in complete control from kickoff, carving out several clear chances and displaying cohesion across all lines. In contrast, Ghazl El-Mahalla struggled to impose themselves and failed to register any meaningful response throughout the 90 minutes.
With this emphatic win, El-Gouna extends its lead at the top of the Relegation Group standings with 30 points, reinforcing its bid to retain top-flight status. Ghazl El-Mahalla remains in eighth place with 21 points and now face an uphill battle to avoid the drop in the remaining rounds.
Al-Ittihad 0–0 Smouha
Al-Ittihad and Smouha shared the spoils in a goalless draw in the Alexandria derby at Borg El-Arab Stadium, as Round 7 of the Egyptian Premier League’s Relegation Group unfolded.
In a tense and tightly contested affair, both sides showed flashes of attacking intent but ultimately lacked the cutting edge in the final third. Al-Ittihad looked the more threatening in the first-half, pushing forward with urgency, while Smouha gradually grew into the game, enjoying better spells of possession in the second period.
Despite a few half-chances and set-piece opportunities for either side, neither team was able to break the deadlock, with both goalkeepers rarely tested in a match that was high on effort but short on clear chances.
The draw keeps the two Alexandria-based clubs narrowly above the drop zone. Al-Ittihad sits in fifth place on 25 points, just one point ahead of Smouha, who remains in sixth with 24 points.
With only a handful of fixtures left, both teams remain firmly in the relegation mix and will need stronger attacking performances to secure safety.
Modern 2–1 Ismaily
Modern Sport came from behind to defeat Ismaily 2–1 in a crucial clash at Ismailia Stadium in Round 7 of the relegation group.
Ismaily took the lead in the 29th minute through an own goal, when a cross from forward Marwan Hamdy rolled past Modern’s keeper Karim Emad after a failed attempt by Burkina Faso midfielder Eric Traore.
Attacking midfielder Mohamed Helal pulled Modern level from the spot in the 51st minute after Ismaily’s defender Mohamed Ammar conceded a penalty. Helal then capitalized on a defensive error by Ismaily’s left-winger Ali El-Malawany in the 76th minute to complete the comeback with a composed finish.
Modern Sport climbs to seventh with 22 points—just outside the drop zone—while Ismaily remains stuck in ninth and last place with 19 points, deep in relegation trouble.
Enppi 1–1 El-Geish
Enppi secured a vital point with a 1–1 draw against Talae El-Geish at the Sports Authority Stadium in the seventh round of the relegation group.
Left winger Salah Zayed gave Enppi the lead deep into first-half stoppage time, only for Nigerian centre-forward Godwin Chika to restore parity for El-Geish in the 55th minute.
The result moves Enppi to fourth place with 25 points, while Talae El-Geish holds third on 27 points—both teams edging closer to top-flight survival.
Degla and Contractors seal promotion
Wadi Degla and Arab Contractors secured their promotion to the Egyptian Premier League after impressive results in Round 6 of the Professional League.
Wadi Degla clinched the point they needed with a goalless draw against Al-Mansoura, while Arab Contractors ensured their spot with a 2–0 win over Al-Sekka Al-Hadid.
Arab Contractors leads the table with 77 points, with Degla closes behind on 75. Al-Mansoura rises to 39 points, while Al-Sekka remains at 53.
