About LE55.663 billion was allocated for social security under the draft state general budget for the fiscal year 2025/2026.
The Ministry of Finance said LE54 billion will go for social solidarity assistance, Takaful and Karama Program and the community education support program; LE147 million for child pension; and LE1.516 billion for social allowance and the national program for early childhood development.
Moreover, estimated expenditures for the treatment of Egyptian citizens at the state’s expense under the 2025/2026 budget rose by 50 per cent to stand at about LE15.130 billion against LE10.091 billion in the 2024/2025 fiscal year budget.
