CAIRO — Al-Ahly retained their lead in the Egyptian Premier League’s Championship Group after five rounds, sitting atop the table with 49 points. Pyramids FC slipped to second on 47 after a shock 4-2 defeat to NBE Club, while Zamalek remained third on 41 points. NBE Club surged into fourth with 36 points.

NBE Club 4–2 Pyramids FC

At Cairo International Stadium, NBE Club pulled off a thrilling upset over title contenders Pyramids FC.

Ghanaian left-back Issahaku Yakubu set the tone early with a pinpoint cross converted on the volley to open the scoring in the 4th minute. Forward Osama Faisal doubled the lead midway through the first half after pouncing on a turnover created by Togolese winger Yao Anwar.

Pyramids clawed back through striker Ibrahim Adel’s solo effort in the 48th minute, and forward Marwan Hamdi leveled in the 74th shortly after coming on.

But NBE Club responded swiftly: Playmaker Ahmed Medboully rifled home from range in the 82nd, and Anwar sealed the win with a clinical finish off a right winger Sayed Abdallah “Neymar” assist.

The win lifts NBE Club to fourth place, while Pyramids remain two points adrift of Al-Ahly.

Pharco FC 2–2 Petrojet

At Max Stadium in Alexandria, Pharco FC and Petrojet shared the spoils in a lively 2-2 draw.

Left-back player Gaber Kamel struck first for the hosts in the 12th minute, but striker Ismaila Bamba brought Petrojet level midway through the first half.

Forward Ahmed Sherif restored Pharco’s lead just after the break, only for midfielder Hamed Hamdan to salvage a point for the visitors from the spot deep into stoppage time. Pharco now sits seventh on 30 points, with Petrojet is eighth on 26.

Zamalek 2–2 Ceramica

Zamalek’s winless run continued with a 2-2 draw against Ceramica Cleopatra in their first outing under new coach Ayman El-Ramady.

The White Knights capitalized early when striker Nasser Mansi punished a blunder by goalkeeper Mohamed Bassem.

Midfielder Islam Eissa pulled Ceramica level in the 64th minute, but Tunisian forward Seifeddine Jaziri restored Zamalek’s lead in the 69th minute.

However, substitute Moroccan winger Ahmed Belhadji powered home a stoppage-time header in the 90+4 to snatch a point.

Zamalek climbs to third with 41 points, while Ceramica Cleopatra moves to sixth on 31.
