Egypt secured the silver medal in the team showjumping competition at the 25th edition of the CISM World Military Equestrian Championship, held from May 5 to 8 at the Kayan Equestrian Club in the New Administrative Capital. The prestigious event took place under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Italy claimed the gold medal in the team category, while Qatar rounded out the podium with a bronze. In the individual showjumping competition, the United Arab Emirates took gold, followed by Russia with silver and Egypt with bronze.
The championship brought together elite military riders from 20 countries, including France, Brazil, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, reinforcing international camaraderie under the Council of International Military Sports (CISM) motto, “Friendship through Sport.”
This milestone edition not only highlighted Egypt’s organizational capabilities but also reaffirmed its growing role as a hub for international military sporting events. The tournament concluded with a closing ceremony, where Qatar was honored with the CISM “Friendship through Sport” award for its contributions to the spirit of unity and sportsmanship.
The championship served as a vibrant display of athletic excellence and cross-cultural solidarity, further advancing military cooperation through equestrian sport.
