The Giza Pyramids area welcomed Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, and his accompanying delegation. The visit took place on the sidelines of Minister Ersoy’s official trip to Egypt to participate in the 4th Ministerial Meeting of Tourism Ministers from D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation, which was hosted and chaired by Egypt in Cairo over the past two days. Egypt currently holds the presidency of the D-8 group from May 2024 until December 2025.
Secretary-General of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mohamed Ismail Khaled, received the Turkish Minister and gave the delegation an extensive tour of the archaeological site, explaining the historical and archaeological significance of the area, including the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the only remaining wonder of the ancient world, and the iconic Sphinx.

During the tour, Minister Ersoy expressed his admiration for the site, highlighting the grandeur and richness of Egypt’s ancient civilisation and the remarkable ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians in constructing the pyramids and carving the Sphinx. Minister Ersoy also took commemorative photos to mark this special visit.
