Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, concluded an important visit to the UAE with an energetic press conference in Dubai, welcoming almost 100 journalists from across the region and around the globe.

This event, held on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market 2025, served as a platform, inviting the world to experience Egypt’s magic, marvels, and generosity.

Fathy shared Egypt’s impressive achievements, even amid challenging global times. In 2024 alone, the country welcomed 15.8 million tourists, a 6 per cent increase over the previous year and a remarkable 21 per cent rise above pre-pandemic figures.

The momentum continues, with the first quarter of 2025 showing an astonishing 25 per cent growth in the number of visitors. Egypt truly shines as a beacon for explorers seeking unique destinations, diverse experiences, and genuine warmth.

“Egypt offers an unparalleled array of destinations and experiences,” Fathy said, highlighting the country’s new tourism strategy under the slogan “Egypt… Unparalleled Diversity.”

From idyllic beaches and desert adventures to rich cultural heritage, Egypt is positioning itself as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations.

The minister announced ambitious plans to double hotel accommodation by 2031. New investment incentives, updated rental regulations, and, most importantly, steadfast commitments to quality and safety will ensure every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and inspired.

The nation’s tourism renaissance will be symbolised by the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on July 3. Nestled near the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx International Airport, GEM promises an immersive journey through human history, a radiant gift not just to visitors, but to all of humanity.

Soon, he added, an investment opportunities bank – a digital map of promising projects – will encourage both local and international partners to join the adventure, further enriching visitor experiences and fostering community growth.

These efforts, he noted, aim not only to further diversify Egypt’s tourism sector but also to deepen the quality of each guest’s journey, whether through adventure, wellness, heritage, or family travel.

Tourists from across Latin America, Asia, the Gulf, and beyond are discovering Egypt’s charm, supported by renewed promotional efforts and a promise of service excellence.

At the 32nd Arabian Travel Market, Egypt’s pavilion attracted large crowds and potential partners, highlighting the country’s efforts to expand in regional markets as summer travel approaches.

“Egypt is not just a destination; it is an experience for the soul,” he said.
