In the wake of the devastating fire in the 6th of October area, Ahl Misr Burn Treatment Hospital has swiftly mobilized to receive and treat several critical cases. Despite reaching full capacity across its inpatient wards and intensive care units, the hospital’s medical and nursing teams acted promptly, delivering life-saving interventions to the injured.

Demonstrating a high level of preparedness and responsiveness, the hospital administration took the urgent step of converting its emergency units into temporary intensive care spaces. This measure allowed for the immediate accommodation and treatment of a surge in critical cases, ensuring that patients received vital medical attention without delay.

The hospital’s state-of-the-art emergency department—originally designed to serve as a fully equipped intensive care unit during major incidents—played a pivotal role in managing the crisis. The department successfully admitted five severely injured victims from the fire and simultaneously treated two children and three women injured in separate incidents.

This rapid and effective response was made possible by the hospital’s advanced medical infrastructure and expert multidisciplinary teams. The emergency department, with a capacity to treat up to 30 patients concurrently, is staffed by a specialized team trained in burn care and rehabilitation. Each treatment bay is equipped with cutting-edge medical devices, including artificial respirators and systems for continuous monitoring of patients’ vital signs. The department also follows strict sterilization protocols in full compliance with intensive care standards.

The hospital emphasized the importance of maintaining a flexible and scalable infrastructure, capable of adapting to emergency scenarios and large-scale incidents. This flexibility ensured that all patients received timely and comprehensive care, even under extraordinary circumstances.

Ahl Misr Burn Treatment Hospital extended its heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the 6th of October fire and wished a full and speedy recovery to all those injured.

As the region’s first and largest specialized facility for burn treatment, Ahl Misr reaffirms its commitment to providing free, high-quality burn care across Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. The hospital continues to lead with its mission of delivering world-class medical services to all who need them, regardless of background or circumstances.
