CAIRO – Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark headed for Poland on Friday at the start of a pastoral visit of the Diocese of Central Europe.
The pontiff will meet with the community of the Orthodox Coptic Church in the Polish capital Warsaw to check on their spiritual and pastoral conditions. He will also hold several official meetings.
Pope Tawadros is accompanied by Bishop Fam of East Minya, Bishop Axious of Mansoura, Father Emmanuel El Muharraqy, director of the papal office, deacon Joseph Reda from the papal secretariat, and journalist Michael Victor, the press attache of the visit.
