PM, Mansour Group chart $150M factory in New October city

In a pivotal step towards advancing Egypt’s automotive industry, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli held high-level talks on Sunday with senior executives from Mansour Automotive Group to review the blueprint for a new car manufacturing plant in New October City.

The meeting, which took place at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, brought together key stakeholders, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel El Wazir, Mansour Group Chairman Mohamed Mansour, and Group CEO Ankush Arora.

Prime Minister Madbouli affirmed the government’s strong commitment to bolstering local industry, particularly the automotive sector. He emphasized that Egypt is offering comprehensive incentives and streamlined procedures to attract investment, support manufacturing, and boost exports in alignment with national economic development goals.

Minister El Wazir echoed the sentiment, pledging full support from the Ministry of Industry to help Mansour Group navigate any challenges in establishing the new facility. The project is expected to create around 10,000 job opportunities, offering a significant boost to employment and industrial capacity.

During the meeting, Mohamed Mansour presented an overview of the company’s ambitious plans, which include the construction of a $150 million automotive plant and a dedicated vehicle filter factory. These developments, he noted, represent a strategic milestone in strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing.

The project is being established under a usufruct agreement signed with the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports (GALDP), with the factory to be located in the industrial zone of New October City. Construction is set to begin soon, with production anticipated to launch in Q3 of 2026.

Initial production capacity is projected at 50,000 vehicles annually, with plans to double output to 100,000 units in the second phase. The facility aims to achieve over 45% local component integration, reflecting the government’s push for increased localization in manufacturing.

Spanning a built-up area of 47,500 square meters on a total land plot of 126,000 square meters, the factory will house multiple production units focused on a range of vehicle types.

Mansour praised the state’s progress in developing the New Administrative Capital and lauded the government’s proactive approach to economic resilience in the face of global and regional challenges.

The project underscores a shared vision between the government and the private sector to position Egypt as a major player in the global automotive supply chain.
