French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Cairo and his tour of its ancient streets represents a powerful promotion for tourism in Egypt and sends a message that the country enjoys safety and stability, despite current tensions in the Middle East region, said member of the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) Hossam Hazaa on Tuesday.

“Shedding light on similar visits enhances Egypt’s image abroad and encourages tourists to visit Egypt,” Hazaa said in statements to Nile News channel.

Macron’s visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will contribute to luring cultural tourism to Egypt, Hazza added.

He highlighted the strategic plan outlined by the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA) with the aim of attracting tourists from key tourism-exporting countries to Egypt, including European and Gulf countries, and some African countries.

He shed light on incentives Egypt offers for tourists, including visa facilitation and incentives for tour groups as well as exempting tourists coming to Luxor and Aswan from paying entry visa fees during the next summer.
