Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said that the tax revenues increased 38% during the first half of the current Fiscal Year (FY), out of enhancing confidence, partnership and support for the business community.

The minister’s remarks were made during a roundtable with Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan el Khatib on Monday.

He further underlined efforts made to expand the tax base and establish partnership with financers, with the view to overcoming challenges to the business community, he added.

The minister added his ministry works on restoring the business community’s confidence via approving packages of facilitates to show the tangible change in the tax system.

The business community seeks to gain advantage of the first package of tax facilitates, he said.
