Sisi lauds Armed Forces’ key role in protecting homeland

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited the Egyptian Military Academy, where he was received by Lieutenant General Ashraf Zaher, head of the Military Academy. The President inspected the cadets’ line-up, followed up on their training and educational activities, and performed Friday prayers in the academy, Presidential Spokesman, Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy, said in a statement.

The spokesman said President Sisi congratulated the cadets on the advent of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Ambassador el-Shennawy said the President was keen to listen to cadets to ensure the progress of their training during Ramadan. He also discussed with them the regional and international developments and outcomes of the extraordinary Arab summit that Cairo hosted on March 4, reviewing the state’s efforts to restore stability in the region, especially in the Gaza Strip.

He discussed the Arab plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip, stressing that peace is the choice of Egypt and the Arab countries. In the same context, President Sisi thanked the Egyptian people for their unity and strong alignment behind the political leadership, especially during the exceptional circumstances and current regional challenges.

He praised the unity and solidity of the Egyptian home front, which reflects Egyptians’ good judgment of matters, stressing the Armed Forces’ key role in protecting the homeland.

Ambassador el-Shennawy said the President was briefed on the activities taking place at the Academy, where he lauded cadets’ discipline, perseverance, and keenness to develop their skills, commending their high level of physical fitness and self-confidence.
