The Embassy of India in Cairo has recently organised the “Know & Connect with India’s Startup Ecosystem” event to strengthen collaboration between Egypt and India’s startup communities.

The event introduced Egyptian officials, investors, universities, and entrepreneurs to Startup Mahakumbh, India’s major startup event, taking place from April 3 to 5, 2025.

Participants explored opportunities in investment, innovation and partnerships, encouraging their engagement in the event.

Discussions highlighted that Startup Mahakumbh 2025 will feature over 1,300 startups from various sectors, including AI, Fintech, Biotech, Agritech, DeepTech, and Climate Tech.

Speakers emphasised the benefits of participation, such as access to India’s innovation ecosystem, global recognition in technology, and business meetings for trade and investment.

The event gathered senior officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Co-operation, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Key figures from Egyptian and Indian startups also participated, fostering discussions on innovation and collaboration opportunities between Cairo and New Delhi.

Among the distinguished guests were Advisor to the Minister of International Co-operation Tarek Sherawy, Vice Chairman of ASRT Amr Farouk, CEO of the Social Fund for Development Basil Rehmi, and President of Sweedy University Ahmed Hassan.

Their presence contributed to strengthening business ties between Egypt and India.
