Egypt’s annual inflation rate declined to 23.4 percent in December 2024 against 25 per cent in November, the the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported on Thursday.
CAPMAS said in a statement that the overall consumer price index for the whole country reached 239.7 points in December 2024, reflecting an annual inflation rate of 23.4 per cent.
The agency attributed the decline to the decrease in prices of vegetables by 14 per cent, meat and poultry by 0.1 per cent, fish and seafood by 0.6 per cent as well as dairy products, cheese, and eggs by 0.7 per cent.
