Head of the Evangelical community in Egypt Andrea Zaki has hailed equality among all Egyptians, as well as development projects, citing the measures and mega projects implemented on the ground.

He said that the Egyptian state and the new republic are a gift of God, urging Egyptians to thank God for living in security and stability, especially in light of tension and wars in various parts of the world.

In statements to MENA, he voiced concerns about the continued war in Gaza and incidents in Lebanon and Syria.

He asserted that the church is against all kinds of violence.

Meanwhile, he noted that Egypt is changing and advancing in various domains, especially in the citizenship field, referring to activating the law of building churches.

He highlighted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s keenness on building churches beside mosques in new cities.

Zaki accentuated his keenness on spreading this positive image in his pastoral tours abroad.

As for the international economic crunch, he commended the efforts exerted by Egypt in addressing the crisis, especially in promoting stability and national unity in the Egyptian community over the past 10 years.

He expressed hope for overcoming the economic crisis and becoming more resilient.

He highlighted the initiatives launched by President Sisi over the past period which played a pivotal role in addressing the current economic challenges.

The new republic has proved to be resilient and managed to promote its security capabilities to protect Egyptians, underlining the positive role played by the Egyptian army and police in maintaining security in the country.

He also highlighted Egypt’s efforts in receiving refugees.

Zaki added that celebrations for the ordination of new priests in various Egyptian governorates underscore the unity among Egyptians as these events are attended by different executive, political and religious leaderships as well as members of parliament, sheikhs, and citizens.

This emphasizes coexistence and the unity of all Egyptians, both Muslims and Christians, he said.
