Egypt’s Planning and international Cooperation Minister Rania el-Mashat met Monday with the World Bank’s Country Director for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti Stephane Guimbert to discuss future cooperation projects.

Mashat stressed the importance of cooperation with the World Bank Group to push forward growth while focusing on sectors driving the Egyptian economy.

The World Bank Group has always been a distinguished partner of the Egyptian government in implementing development projects and offering technical support and analysis, the minister said.

Over the past decades, the World Bank Group has contributed to many sectors, such as education, health, transport, social protection and housing, not to mention its support for the private sector, Mashat added.

She talked about successful cooperation with the World Bank in a number of projects in Egypt over the past period.

Egypt is looking forward to further boosting future cooperation with the World Bank Group in many fields, the minister said.
