Cairo willing to expand cultural cooperation with Riyadh 

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday the Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud. The meeting was attended by Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Heno, Saudi Minister of State and Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs Essam bin Saeed, and the Saudi Ambassador to Cairo Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini.

The Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shinawy said that the Saudi Minister of Culture conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince. 

 President Sisi expressed his appreciation for this gesture, reaffirming Egypt’s pride in the historical relations with Saudi Arabia across all fields, particularly in the cultural domain. 

The President also wished Saudi Arabia success in hosting various cultural events and sports tournaments. He also congratulated the Saudi Kingdom once again for winning the bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.

President Sisi praised the remarkable progress Saudi Arabia has made in culture, arts, and tourism. 

He welcomed any cultural collaboration the Kingdom may seek, emphasizing Egypt’s rich cultural heritage, vast expertise, and significant capabilities in the areas of arts and culture.

 The President also expressed Egypt’s readiness to expand the implementation of joint projects with Saudi Arabia in all areas related to culture, arts, literature, and heritage preservation.

For his part, the Saudi Minister of Culture, emphasised the deep-rooted bonds and close ties between the Egyptian and Saudi peoples, noting that the Egyptian culture and arts hold a special place in the hearts of Saudi citizens.

The Minister also stressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to intensifying cooperation and implementing cultural and artistic projects with Egypt.

The Saudi minister highlighted the ongoing close coordination among the relevant ministries and authorities in the two countries, which contributes to fostering the course of cultural and artistic cooperation between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
