Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Wednesday that the current regional and international developments top the agenda of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s meetings, especially concerning the Palestinian cause.

As the world marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Sisi has been keen on reiterating Egypt’s full support for the lawful Palestinian rights, atop of which the right to establish an independent state on the pre-1967 borders, Madbouli said during the government’s weekly meeting.

Africa is another top concern of the Egyptian state under Sisi, Madbouli said, pointing out to continued coordination with African countries to achieve joint development projects. He cited a recent meeting between Sisi and Gabonese transitional president Brice Oligui Nguema to discuss cooperation in the fields of trade and investment. He also referred to two meetings between Sisi and advisors of the president of the Democratic Republic of Congo on boosting bilateral cooperation.

Economic-wise, President Sisi held a meeting with CEO of British Petroleum (BP) Murray Auchincloss on increasing the company’s energy investments in Egypt, Madbouli added.
