CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a message from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Felix Tshisekedi, who stressed his keenness to foster relations with Egypt in different fields.

President Sisi got the message during his meeting on Monday with a special adviser of the Congolese president and the Congolese president’s internal security advisor, in the presence of Head of the General Intelligence Service Hassan Rashad, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shenawy.

The spokesman added that President Sisi commended the current momentum in Egyptian-Congolese relations, expressing Egypt’s readiness to expand cooperation with the Democratic Republic of Congo in various areas of mutual concern.

The president said he looks forward to a greater presence of Egyptian companies in the Congolese market, as part of Egypt’s interest in intensifying cooperation and establishing development projects in African states, especially in the Nile Basin countries.

President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s support for the Democratic Republic of Congo’s efforts to bring about development, security and stability.

The spokesman noted that the two sides tackled the overall situation in Africa and ways to consolidate peace and security on the African continent.

The Congolese president’s special adviser lauded Egypt’s efforts to bolster stability in Africa and the Middle East, as well as the growing cooperation between Cairo and Kinshasa.
