CAIRO – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has spoken highly of “deep” and “historical” relations between the Egyptian and Kuwaiti peoples, expressing keenness to further boost bilateral co-operation to meet aspirations of both sides.
Abdelatty, in a meeting with Kuwaiti Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah Sunday, talked about the development and reform process going on in Egypt despite the current regional and international crises, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
Abdelatty said the Egyptian government is seeking to enhance trade and economic ties with Kuwait, stressing the importance of the private sector’s role in leading economic development in Egypt, according to Khallaf.
The top diplomat focused on ambitious steps taken by Cairo to improve the investment climate and ease obstacles facing businesspeople, the spokesman said.
He added that Abdelatty also posted the Kuwaiti premier on various investment opportunities in Egypt that are up for grabs by Kuwaiti companies.
The meeting also took up efforts by the Kuwaiti authorities to take good care of Egyptians residing in Kuwait, with Abdelatty underscoring the important role Egyptian workers play to achieve development in Kuwait, Khallaf further said.
They also discussed security and military cooperation between the two Arab countries, the spokesman added.
