Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El-Hefny, highlighted the importance of collective efforts to address the rapid developments in global air transport during his participation in the International Programme for Civil Aviation Leaders in Dubai.

El-Hefny expressed pride in representing Egypt at the event, describing it as a vital platform for fostering Arab collaboration and sharing expertise among regional civil aviation leaders. He commended the UAE’s efforts in advancing the aviation sector using best international practices and noted that Egypt’s participation underscores its commitment to enhancing regional and global co-operation for a sustainable future in civil aviation.

“The accelerating changes in air transport demand unified efforts and continued collaboration among all nations to improve the standards of the sector,” El-Hefny said.

The third edition of the programme featured workshops and strategic presentations addressing critical topics, including government transformation, global aviation trends, strategic planning, and economic objectives. Other focal points included safety, security, and the integration of aviation and tourism as drivers of economic growth.

Participants explored opportunities for sustainable practices, including innovations in sustainable aviation fuel, and examined the dynamic roles of aviation, space, and education in shaping national innovation strategies.

Hosted by the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office, the programme brought together over 20 ministers and senior leaders from the civil aviation sector, including Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA. Representatives from Arab countries and key international stakeholders also attended, reinforcing the programme’s role as a hub for knowledge exchange and regional collaboration.

The event emphasised the critical role of civil aviation in achieving economic and sustainable development goals across the Arab region.
