CAIRO – US Ambassador in Cairo Herro Mustafa Garg reaffirmed her support for women entrepreneurs in Egypt.

She emphasized that investing in women and helping them achieve their goals is a top priority for the US government.

The statement was made during the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) conference organized by the US Embassy in Cairo, held at the American University in Cairo’s Tahrir campus.

According to a press release by the US Embassy in Cairo, the event provided AWE participants with valuable insights into entrepreneurship, networking opportunities, and practical tools for business growth.

Held during Global Entrepreneurship Week, the conference marked the completion of the first cohort of the 2024 AWE program, which supported 150 women entrepreneurs from the Nile Delta region. Participants came from governorates including Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Gharbia, Menoufia, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Damietta, Sharqia, and Port Said.

Yasmin Ashry won first place and received $600 to support her project, Refashion, while Maha Hussein secured second place with her project, Dr. Meem, earning $400.
