CAIRO – Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi discussed with CEO of Dana Gas Richard Hall operations in the company’s concession areas in the Nile Delta, including Manzala, West Manzala, and West Qantara.

In a statement, the Ministry of Petroleum said the discussions focused on available investment opportunities as Dana Gas expressed intention to expand operations and inject additional investments in petroleum and gas exploration in Egypt.

The meeting also reviewed the latest developments in the company’s development zones, with a focus on adding new exploration zones and the status of the new well drilling program for exploration and field development, which includes the drilling of six wells in 2024.

Badawi also met with Vice Chairman of S&P Global Daniel Yergin to discuss the ongoing collaboration in studies related to the oil and gas industry, emissions reduction, energy transition, and organizing energy events in Egypt.

Both sides reviewed future cooperation opportunities in light of the ministry’s current priorities, which include increasing production, maximizing the value of Egypt’s petroleum sector assets, and improving existing infrastructure to enhance the added value of energy resources.

Yergin praised the long-standing and fruitful cooperation, which has resulted in numerous studies and events that have benefited the oil and gas industry in Egypt at both the regional and international levels.

He expressed S&P Global’s commitment to supporting the plans and priorities of Egypt’s petroleum sector.
