The inaugural Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit, organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), commenced on Sunday, October 27th, 2024. Held under the patronage of the League of Arab States and the Egyptian Cabinet, the summit aims to inspire and empower young media professionals across the Arab world.

Themed “Media Inspires… Young People Create,” the two-day event brings together a diverse group of participants, including ministers, politicians, and prominent media figures. The summit will delve into a range of critical issues shaping the media landscape, such as the impact of artificial intelligence, the role of technology in journalism, and the challenges of media coverage in the Arab world.

Experts will engage in insightful discussions on topics like digital security, mental health for journalists, and the ethical implications of AI in media. Experienced media professionals will conduct hands-on workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of young talents. A competition will showcase the creativity of young filmmakers, designers, programmers, and media students from Arab universities.

This edition of the summit is dedicated to the Palestinian cause, with a special award category for creative work supporting Palestine. By convening such a prestigious gathering, the summit underscores Egypt’s enduring role as a media hub and a cornerstone of the Arab world. It reflects the Arab media community’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and ethical journalism.
