Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon discussed regional developments of mutual concern, including the situation in Lebanon and Gaza.

During a phone call from Fajon, Abdelatty briefed his Slovenian counterpart on Egypt’s perspective on the recent escalation and its serious repercussions on the region.

He emphasized the importance Egypt places on coordinating with Slovenia in light of its membership in the UN Security Council, hailing Ljubljana’s supportive stance on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The minister praised growing Egyptian-Slovenian relations, highlighting the strong ties between the two countries and the outcomes of high-level visits, the latest of which was the Slovenian minister’s visit to Egypt in May, and their recent bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
