CAIRO – Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Trade and Industry Minister Kamel el- Wazir met on Sunday with Governor of Qena Khaled Abdel Halim to discuss challenges and problems facing investors at the industrial areas.

The meeting comes as part of periodical meetings held by the minister every Saturday with investors of one governorate to stand on obstacles facing them, according to a statement by the Industry Ministry.

The minister expounded the executive status of industrial areas and complexes in Qena that houses six industrial zones covering an area of 63,000 feddans.

Investors complained that industrial zones are not fully supplied with utilities and that they are unable to get extra lands to serve their expansion plans.

Among the incentives the minister talked about is granting a six-month deadline to owners of industrial projects who completed more than 50 percent of construction works to operate their facility or else the land of the project will be withdrawn from them.

They will be also exempted from paying delay fines.
