Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Saturday his visit to Saint Catherine is part of following up on the final stages of the implementation of the “Great Transfiguration” development project in preparation for its inauguration.
The project is being implemented in a manner befitting its historical and cultural significance under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and with his direct supervision, aiming to transform the area into a global tourist destination, the premier added.
This statement was made during Madbouli’s inspection tour of the city of Saint Catherine in South Sinai Governorate.
Madbouly said the state, through its various ministries and relevant bodies, has made significant efforts to transform this unique location into a global destination for tourists from all over the world.
The state aims to present the site to humanity and to the peoples of the world in a way that reflects its exceptional spiritual value, being a cradle of the three heavenly religions, he added.
