President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has shown great interest in building national human capacities since coming to power in 2014, demonstrating his firm belief in the importance of human development for the achievement of comprehensive and sustainable development.
The latest launch of the presidential Bedaya initiative throws light on this belief.
Launched under the slogan, ‘New Beginning for Human Building’, the initiative invests in human capital and aims to enhance the national identity via integrated programmes.
These programmes seek to improve all aspects of Egyptian citizens’ life.
The State works tooth and nail to achieve a qualitative leap in the field of human development through this aspiring initiative.
The initiative reflects the importance of human capital for the achievement of comprehensive development and consolidating the national identity.
Its vision is centred on fostering the values of belonging and loyalty to the Egyptian state, and achieving sustainable development by coordinating efforts among various state agencies, including the ministries of education, health, religious endowments, culture, social solidarity, and youth and sports.
Bedya initiative also seeks to achieve a tangible and a positive impact on citizens in a short period of time, through integrated programmes targeting all age groups.
There is a programme that targets children from birth to the age of six. This programme focuses on enhancing children’s health and reducing their mortality. It aims to provide the necessary medical care to ensure that children grow healthy and sound.
This represents a strong foundation that opens the door for the presence of generations of Egyptians who are capable of achieving success in the future.
There is also a programme for the age group from six to 18. Its objective is to provide educational and training programmes to enhance the skills of people within this age group.
The State has also designated programmes for individuals between 18 and 65 years of age.
These programmes provide opportunities for continuous training in line with changes and modern requirements in the labour market.
They seek to enhance the professional capabilities of people in this age group and enable them to overcome the economic and the social challenges they meet on the way.
There are also programmes to support the elderly, and provide them with the care they need to ensure their effective integration into society.
Bedaya initiative brings to mind yet again the State’s commitment to achieving sustainable human development by investing in individuals at various stages of their life through a set of comprehensive and targeted programmes, contributing to building generations capable of beating all challenges.
