Egypt’s Housing Minister Sherif el Sherbini said on Sunday the State placed the urban development file on top of its development priorities as part of Egypt 2030 Vision that seeks to improve living conditions of citizens and in line with Sustainable Development Goals calling for making cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
The minister made the remarks while opening Builders of Egypt forum on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
He said the State succeeded in carrying out several development projects in the housing domains, developing unsafe areas, setting up new cities and implementing drinking and waste water projects.
He said a number of cooperation protocols were signed this year with African countries in the housing domain, calling on private companies operating in urban development to take part in the World Urban Forum and to engage with the State in New Republic projects.
