EgyptAir’s Holding Company held its annual general assembly, chaired by Civil Aviation Minister Dr. Sameh El-Hefny and EgyptAir Chairman Engineer Yehia Zakaria, where the company’s new budget and updated allowance structure were approved. The meeting also endorsed development and operational strategies for the upcoming year.

EgyptAir emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries at the 2024 Egypt International Air Show, where it secured several high-profile agreements with global aviation companies. Among the key deals, Engineer Yehia Zakaria signed a Safety Leadership Charter with Kamil Al-Awadhi, IATA’s Regional Vice-President for Africa and the Middle East. The charter is a commitment by global aviation leaders to enhance safety culture and prevent accidents, making EgyptAir one of 72 airlines globally to endorse this initiative.

In the air cargo sector, EgyptAir Cargo signed new contracts with major international companies, including Hong Kong-based Link Global International Logistics, to operate regular flights on the Hong Kong-Milan route. Additional contracts were signed to run routes from Hong Kong to Matija and from Ostend to Matija, via Cairo and Bangkok. These agreements aim to expand EgyptAir Cargo’s global network and strengthen its presence in the international air freight market.

EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering also announced a memorandum of understanding with Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturing giant, to bolster EgyptAir’s position as a leading provider of aircraft maintenance services. This partnership will enhance the company’s maintenance capabilities, particularly for Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and aligns with EgyptAir’s commitment to state-of-the-art technical support.

In a significant development for aviation training, EgyptAir Training Academy signed a memorandum of understanding with the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) to become the association’s official training partner. The agreement, signed by Academy Chairman Walid Suleiman and AFRAA Secretary General Abdérahmane Berthé, will focus on providing pilot, engineering, and technical training for African airlines, addressing the continent’s growing demand for skilled aviation professionals.
